However, she soon discovers that Chatur is not just an ordinary calf but her companion to a place among the stars where she finally reunites with her Nani-maa!

About Dr. Sneha
A great read to fix winter blues – The Story of Mikolko – A Piece of Cake by Ivan Bahmut
During Diwali vacations this winter, I found in my old library, the book I had so much cherished as a child. It was the story, my father read out to me when I would be tucked in bed or laze on the drawing room sofa, or simply when I demanded. A...
The Cat Person – What everybody ought to know about this amazing short story
I read ‘The Cat Person’ posted on New Yorker sometime back and it’s a story you feel compelled to read in one go. I liked it because it was contemporary, realistic and feminist. In spite of its American setting/backdrop, it had a universal appeal. The theme was loud...
Why this book is a MUST-READ for contemporary female writers.
A Room of One's Own by VIRGINIA WOOLF What is the book all about? Following a mentor’s suggestion to read autobiographies/memoir of the heroes to capture the intricacies of their lives and learn the lessons they did the hard way, I came across ‘Room of one’s own’ –...
Want to know more about Children’s all-time favorite Mongoose story? Read on. (Rikki-Tikki-Tavi – Rudyard Kipling)
The world of children’s literature fascinates me and I many times find myself immersed into it. I read out to my kids, popular works of classic and contemporary Indian and American writers. Blessed with an audience of intent listening, it’s not just reading but lots...
Symbolism in Emily Bronte’s Wuthering Heights: 4 ways of Allegorical Writing
Elements of Gothic Symbolism. The word ‘Gothic’ originated from a music category with dark morbid lyrics. In literature, Gothic fiction refers to the one exploring the elements of fear (even horror – haunted castles/homes), death and gloom and the romantic elements of...
5 Lessons from the Story of Ferdinand for Generation Alpha
When I first heard the story of Ferdinand in one of the Read Aloud Sessions arranged by a friend, it took me back to my own childhood. During recess, when kids were set free to frolic in the sand pit, I would stand against the bricked plant enclosures,...

I have always been an avid reader. And like most readers, also an avid daydreamer. I would dream up some good content but always felt that the way I write is not good enough.
A while back, I came across Mrs. Sneha’s invitation to attend a writer’s workshop. I know her from Toastmasters and have always enjoyed her creative and engaging speeches. I thought it could be a good opportunity to learn from an expert, maybe improve on my writing skills, and if not anything, it could be just a fun weekly class to interact with people. The workshop proved to be all of it.
Each class triggered my will to write more, experiment more. Right from day one, we got into the creative bubble. With small fun activities, interesting exercises, it kept on pushing the frame of perspective in all directions. Along with teaching technicalities, Sneha ma’am kept familiarizing us with different authors and their wisdom throughout the workshop. By the end, it put a whole new spin on my hobby of reading, as I learned to ‘read like a writer ‘. And now I have an available pathway that could be walked on to ‘write like a writer’!
Highly interactive , well structured workshop. Sneha has the art to bring out the best reading & writing skills in every person.
I am so glad that I came across this workshop for Creative Writing , it was so insightful and helped me to understand different aspects..I am looking forward for such sessions.
